Events › Reception: Behind the Exhibition

Local artists from Ampersand Design Studio and Tia Curtis Quilts have created the iconic RaisingKC Quilt, depicting moments and people who contribute to our safe, stable, nurturing community. Join us for a reception to meet the creative team and mingle with RaisingKC founders Barbara and Bob Unell while enjoying light refreshments. A Q&A with the creatives will take place from 5-5:30 p.m. The 10 ft. x 10 ft. textile is the centerpiece of an interactive display for families and caregivers. The exhibition includes the quilt, resources from the RaisingKC initiative, access to the Behavior Checker® tool and a hands-on activity for visitors to reflect on the role of caring adults in their lives. Engage with a community message wall or participate in a creative kindness mural. It's a space to learn, connect and celebrate positive relationships.
