Far from his best work, there are many songs with poor piano playing and Tony's off-key singing. It does have a few nice songs and, as such, is suitable to check out from the library. Most will not wish to purchase, however.

I consider this his best recording (his very own private label) produced during his tumultuous years as an artist. This was the period when rock and roll is at its peak - Beatles, Presley - making their wild music at the expense of these great crooners.
Blue Moon gets a new treatment and what an arrangements that is. If Tony is having a great comeback not only with his current Duets albums, it's because he deserved that but if you're a new fan of his, listen to these timeless rendition of the Great American songbook and be thrilled! This is Bennett at his prime - and at his very best! If you're an old fan like me- settle for his complete Improv Recordings (4 CDs in all) which I am planning to do. I wish the library would have settled for the complete set and not just the best.
