Each of the symphonies are described in the order in which they are numbered, from the first to the last movement. There is no printed music showing some of the compositional devices utilized. The CD accompanying the book is very scratchy, recorded as it was in the late 1940's and early 1950's. The introduction and the glossary are the best parts of the work.
