// The truth is that many companies are looking for candidates with your experience, expertise, and maturity. \\
Oh wow! Could have fooled many millions of us . . . in North America, the UK, Japan, South Korea, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!
Since data mining and the Web reached critical mass around 2003 or 2004, all the prospective employer need do [and they subscribe to various agencies which provides this service to them] is have the applicant's name and zip code, or name and telephone number [and in some cases just the zip code will suffice, without any other data] to deduce the applicant's age.
For some peculiar reason, these HR books never impart that important piece of info?!
