I'm late to this series but glad to make it. Here's my one con: I wish this story had been told in chronological order. I didn't see the benefit to the dual timeline.

The rest is positive. I loved the character of Micah and Drystan. I liked that there are questions unanswered but the story had a natural end, so it doesn't feel like a cliffhanger. And while there isn't a load of action, when it comes Lam doesn't pull any punches. Can't wait to grab the next in this series!

Title/Author: Pantomime by Laura Lam
Read by: Anna/Teen Librarian
Summary: A young girl runs away from home to save herself from a surgery her parents think will conform better to her gender. She ends up in a circus, training hard to learn the ropes of the trapeze, but her rich family hasn't stopped looking for her. They want her back at any cost.
Series/Standalone: book one in a series
Genre/sub-genre: fantasy with romantic undertones.
Diversity: yes
Relatable characters: yes
Would I recommend this to others?: yes
Personal thoughts: I really enjoyed this. The world building was interesting, and the way the story was told, alternating between her previous life as a rich girl and her current life as a newbie in the circus, was very engaging. I am looking forward to reading book two.
