A Love Like Ours is a fictional, faith-based romance and best enjoyed with a mug of hot chocolate by the fireside. It’s heartwarming with a touch of faith.

Add a CommentBecky Wade is in my top three favorite fiction writers. Loved this book and the whole Porter family series!
Becky Wade does an awesome job with romance without going overboard with romance. I enjoyed Lyndie and Jake's journey and the rest of the Porter Family novels. I especially loved Lyndie's description of Jake as tall, dark and brooding, it's so appropriate for his personality. The book does deal with PTSD in case that is a problem for some people.
I like Becky Wade's writing style. Her stories deal with love and pain in a very smooth and easygoing, cohesive way. I love the way she includes a God lesson in her books. I particularly enjoyed this book because it was sweet, and likable, but also real. Like hanging out with a best friend.
A lovely story, the main characters of a man, a woman, a handicapped girl. associated family and friends and a horse and how their lives evolve is heart warming and an ideal read for a cold winter day.
I have very mixed feelings about this book. The author's use of language was great, but there were two subplots that added bulk and were never resolved.
In general there was a lot that could have been edited out that would have made the story tighter. My theory that any book that takes more than 300 pages to tell the story needs editing proved true for me. I had the book for 9 weeks and barely finished before it was due. Just couldn't get excited about it.
Oh, and in the end she has the characters conclude it is such a rare and special love—the romance was never really developed. They were friends as kids and then were just 'in love'.

Becky Wade does a marvelous job in developing her characters. Themes of healing and redemption are woven nicely into the story, and the horse, Texas setting is fun. Every girl will love Leslie for her kind and adventurous spirit. Then, handsome, but wounded, Jake will surely capture the reader's heart. This is not an overly fast paced book, but many enjoyable scenes make this book a great read.
