Add a CommentPk is one of the biggest hits of 2014 in India, and around the world. This movie is full of comedy, romance, but at the same time the movie covers some serious, and religious topics. This movie is about an alien who comes to earth to do some research on earth, unfortunately a human on earth steals his communication device, and that device is the only way back home for him. He has an innocent/childish personality, which leads him into asking questions about how religion in India has a big impact on people. I actually learned a lot from this movie, and it even made me realize that I have always wondered about why there are so many different types of religions/god in India, and which one I should believe in. This movie makes people really think about how much religion/god has a big impact on their lives, and it makes people realize that depending on god too much can lead to false expectations, and other people around you can fool you around, and use you by using the name of god. I would definitely give this movie 5/5 stars. @bluesky of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
An extraterrestrial finds himself stranded in India, and decides that only God can help him get home again ... but which god? Delightfully funny, sweet, human and wise.
Very intelligent script with great performances from the lead actor and actress.
I didn't really like this one. There were some amusing scenes of course, and it's not that the acting was bad, per se, but I just wasn't convinced. I didn't get the feeling that I was watching an extraterrestrial attempting to fit in with humans. I got the idea that I was watching a slightly odd human trying to fit in with humans. And also, I just thought the story was an odd way to try to fit in a very harsh social criticism.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this film. After the first 20 min, I thought it was a bit silly. Give it some time and you will find that it is not. It makes you see life through different coloured lenses. Fantastic film. Funny, unique, creative, and thought-provoking, it is a very refreshing film. The music is just plain fun, too. Give it a chance!
Surprisingly intelligent (sort of) and they kept the Bollywood silliness to a minimum (sort of). It unneccesarily long but in the end poretty entertaining.
Classic sappy bollywood.
I love Aamir Khan and the character of PK. Very good movie, story and comedy. Music/songs for me were not very good. Loved the humor! Worth the watch.
Absolutely brilliant. Like all of Aamir Khans movies, it was fantastic and heart moving and simply beautiful. Its the sort of movie that makes you really think, everything that P.K. said in this movie was incredibly true.
Watched this on a flight and loved it. PK is a kind of Hindi Mr Bean, but with a pointed commentary on religious intolerance. I liked the acting, especially Amir Khan as PK. The soundtrack is good and there's even some bits of bhangra dancing. Funny and clever.
