Stone Barrington is faced with the biggest challenge of his life as Stuart Woods's #1 New York Times bestselling series continues...

After an eventful trip to Bel-Air and a reunion with his sophisticated (and very wealthy) former love, Arrington Calder, confirmed bachelor Stone Barrington is looking to stay in New York and cash in on his partnership at Woodman & Weld. Not only is he a rainmaker of one of the riches white-shoe law firms in town, he's back in his element. Manhattan, after all, is his home, and no one is better than Stone at navigating both its shadowy underworlds and its chic society.

But Arrington has other plans for Stone, and his life is about to take a turn he never imagined...

Boring and contrived. Obscene wealth broadly flaunted, a 16-year old son just too good to be true. Yucky right down to his new Toyota Prius. Every problem easily solved with money and political influence. Even the illegal falsification of birth certificates. ZZZZ .... Woods no longer seems to care. So why should you ? Don't waste your time.

I estimate that I abandon perhaps one book in fifty without finishing. This is the one. I had not read this author before and was expecting what? a mystery?, a courtroom drama?, a thriller? None of that here ? at least not through page 96 where my patience ran out. If you have a perfectly behaved illegitimate genius teenager, your own jet, tons of money, and a desire for a tutorial on how to peddle influence to get Junior into an elite school, then this may be the book for you. Otherwise, forget it. If you are still determined to sample this turkey, at least start with page 97, because you won't have missed anything before that. One star.

If you're looking for an easy, predictable read, this is it. Everyone is beautiful, rich & successful, Stone's son is too perfect to be real & any suspense is negated by the sure knowledge that everyone will be fine in the end.

disappointing - but it does set up for a spin off series.

Awesome read as always - Stone's newest adventure is much different than in the past. Making him human was great. Don't know if I'm more excited for Stones new adventure or his son's.

Son of Stone ---- by Stuart Woods c - 2011 ---- ----

Well here it is: Oct 5, 2011 and I've just finished this novel. Having read it overnight I'm left wanting. ---- Well written and allot of interesting changes for Stone. ---- A major traumatic event for Stone, his Family and his longtime friends. ----

Still a good read with a new oncoming storyline ----

Enjoy! ----
