This is a fun and catchy pop/rock album that puts you in a good mood because it is a feel happy, care free sound to tap your foot to or nod your head to. Some of the good feeling songs on this album are Make Me Like You and Misery.

This is my favourite Gwen Stefani album by far! I love every single song in this album, and that is a rare find! Highly recommended! Five out of five stars!

Pop:
A curious theme runs thru several of the songs: " I'm so angry at you but I love you."
Only two songs are worth a second listen:
Track 4) "Make Me Love You", which is ok
And track 7). "Send me a Picture", which is actually rather good — (i think its the beat)

I have been listening to No Doubt since 1990 as well as Gwen's solo albums and this one feels like a lament over Gavin Rossdale and their divorce as well as her new crush on Blake Shelton. Some songs you can clearly hear her talking to Gavin while the other songs feel like she is talking to Blake. Personally I prefer her Ska/Punk side to her pop personna but that is just me. I feel for her being cheated on by her former husband and am happy she has found someone who is treating her well and with respect however I hope that her next solo album comes more from her roots rather than her feelings of a failed relationship...But I get why she has made the songs she did on this record.

It has been 10 years since Gwen Stefani's last solo release, and This Is What The Truth Feels Like is a breath of fresh air in the world of contemporary pop music. It is her most honest album since Tragic Kingdom, and I appreciate her candor in discussing her high profile divorce with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale and her blooming romance with The Voice co-star Blake Shelton. Like her previous works, there is a nice mix of bubble pop, trap beats, ska infused rhythms, and heart wrenching ballads that sometimes veers into eccentricity (not that this is a bad thing!). Heartbreak seems to fuel her creative processes, and what results is a cathartic album that allows the listener to experience the roller coaster of emotions Stefani has felt in the past year. It may have been a long time waiting for some new tunes, but it was totally worth it. A fantastic album with plenty of summer jams that are best listened to while cruising with the windows rolled down.
