The structure of this book is brilliant. The subject matter is tough. Together, it's a remarkably well-written memoir not just about addiction and recovery, but about grit, family, love, and honesty.
This book follows the author's story, alternating between past and present, detailing a life of addiction and the path to sobriety. Surprisingly easy to read, this was a powerful book and reminded me to take time to look at life through other perspectives.

This was a wonderfully written book cataloging Joshua's addiction, and at the same time detailing the powerful impact people have had on his life. Vacillating between present and past, Mohr brings his addition and recovery into sharp focus. It's a beautifully constructed memoir that, while difficult to read, is beautifully written.
