I was 12, going on 13 in 1983, just like the main characters in this TV series. My 13-year-old and I have been enjoying a binge-bond over this series. She keeps asking me if the 80s really were like that, and I assure her that other than the monster, yes, they really were. Maybe even, metaphorica... Read More »

This Netflix series explores the paranormal and its effect on a small town in Indiana (circa 1983). The friendship between the four male protagonists (preteen boys) is the best thing about the show (great chemistry there!) and the fast-paced movement of the show keeps viewers from becoming restl... I'm not a huge science fiction fan, but "Stranger Things" had me hooked with its nostalgic 1980s pop culture references, attention to period detail, and mystery. This show has it all: sinister government agents, a secret lab, a girl with telekinetic powers, kids on bikes taking on the ... Read More »

Well I really TRIED to get into the U.S. while watching with my child and the constant unnecessary cursing that these young kids were doing made it VERY hard to enjoy, how can you try to teach your kids not to curse but in this movie the young kids curse more than the adults..smh

Stick with this season only. It's kinda cool - unique and retro. Season 2 was ...okay. And 3 went straight up the dumper. I won't even bother with Season 4 if there ends up being one. It's nothing but a polished turd.

Liked the show - lots of suspense - but seemed more like the 1950's than the 1980's! (Especially the bad boyfriend with the pompadore hairdo). I think they got the eras mixed up. I will put Season #2 on reserve and see what happens as very enjoyable show.

If you're a 80s fan, love pop culture references, and especially Stephen King, this series is a must watch! This thriller filled with friendship, adventure and mystery has an excellent style of storytelling as well as character building. The cast of characters have a great dynamic that will make you love and root for them. Watch this series now!

While the story of creeping horror possessing a young boy in a small town is compelling, the real heroes of this show are the set designers and the creator of the title sequence. The nostalgia for the 1980s drips out of everything. In the first season Winona Ryder is a bit one-note, but the rest of the young actors playing D&D-playing heroes and the weird girl from the woods are all great.

A celebration of the 80's, middle school hijinks, and monster movies, this is the perfect show to watch from late October to December.

I lllllloooovvvvvvveeeee this show! It is amazing! I am now an '80s fan, arcade fan, and... Clash fan! I can't wait for season 3 :)!

Spot-on 80's references, strong female characters and realistic depictions of middle school children make this a winner the whole family can enjoy! Good music is a bonus.
