The story explores the life and work of one of the most loved, influential, and well-known artists, Johannes Vermeer. Images from his paintings have become part of our collective imagination and are instantly recognizable. In the new feature documentary, French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Cottet adopts an imaginative and sensitive approach to his subject, focusing on not only his work, but also his family life, including his conversion to Catholicism.

Worthwhile documentary about Vermeer who although revered as a master
artist today, was forgotten for hundreds of years before being rediscovered in the mid 1800s. I enjoyed learning about the man and his art (didn't realize how few paintings he actually did/survived).
