Haunting read about searching for both roots and reasons in the aftermath of suicide. Grief is a messy thing, and Leigh's journey is a powerful one with no easy answers. The magical realism works hand-in-hand with her synesthesia and the disconcerting sense of being a stranger in a strange country, creating a hazy sense of atmosphere, both literal and emotional.
