If you enjoyed the first book in this series, you will definitely enjoy this one. It jumps straight into the action and includes a lot of plot twists. This book focuses more on the relationships between character to character, including love and hate. The protagonist must cope with the changes between her old and new life, and learns of her never-seen-before ability and its potential. In my opinion, the best part must be the love triangle as it creates more dilemmas, which only leads to more drama. They definitely should have made a second movie after the first because the novel was amazing. 4.5/5

This book is a sequel to City of Bones. It talks about Clary Fray who is a Shadowhunter who kills demons. Clary would just like life to be normal again but She can see werewolves, faeries, vampires now. Also, her mother is in magically induced come. In this book, Clary and her new brother Jace try to find her father Valentine. Valentine is a rogue shadow hunter. He's very evil. That's just a couple of the obstacles in her world, there are many more in this book.

I liked the story, I couldn't stop reading. My favourite character so far is Magnus Baine. I love how Cassandra Clare goes into so many wonderful details to make this book come alive. You really feel like your there. It takes you in.

I would totally recommend this book tho everyone. it was a little of everything for everyone.

This was a great book, though it was a bit slow at some parts. The ending was not as expected and I liked the first book better but still a great book in the series.

Overall, great! My only problem is that the climax was somewhat anticlimactic and only really made sense after the fact. The first book was better, but I'm still hooked!

This was an amazing read. I reread this book so I can reminisce about the characters that made me fall in love with Shadowhunter World. In rereading the book, I caught many details that I missed the first time I read it. I love the characters. However, Malec is my favourite ship of this series. I especially love these sweet moments as they first become a couple. Overall, an action-packed read.

Isabelle drifted over, Jace a pace behind her. She was wearing a long black dress with boots and an even longer cutaway coat of soft green velvet, the color of moss.

Isabelle: "I can't believe you did it! How did you get Magnus to let Jace leave?"
Clary: "Traded him for Alec."
Isabelle: "Not permanently?"
Jace: "No. Just for a few hours. Unless I don't come back. In which case, maybe he does get to keep Alec. Think of it as a lease with an option to buy."
Isabelle: "Mom and Dad won't be pleased if they find out."
Simon: "That you freed a possible criminal by trading away your brother to a warlock who looks like Sonic the Hedgehog and dress like the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? No, probably not."

"You see, cuckoos are parasites. They lay their eggs in other birds' nests. When the egg hatches, the baby cuckoo pushes the other baby birds out of the nest. The poor parent birds work themselves to death trying to find enough food to feed the enormous cuckoo child who has murdered their babies and taken their places."

"Enormous?" said Jace. "Did you just call me fat?"

"It was an analogy."

"I am not fat."

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

I couldn't put this book down. It's a great sequel to City Of Bones, you could even say it's better. It has its problems, but those are things you can get pass because the story just absorbs you completely. There was a lot of action and suspense with this one, but it was equally amazing. I can't wait to read City Of Glass!
