Add a CommentNot engaging enough for me to deal with the lack of quotation marks. Quit reading a couple of chapters in.
The characters were not believable, and there was an overt amount of foreshadowing regarding an incestuous subplot, to the point that when the author revealed what had actually happened, it no longer felt as surprising. I found the scientific aspect interesting, and there was just barely enough happening to keep me reading until the end.
