A fun, island based "home/town-improvement" game with cute animals and graphics and cheery music. A fun, island based "home/town-improvement" game with cute animals and graphics and cheery music. It contains some well made puns and historical references and while it doesn't feature couch co-op, you can visit your friends islands and other online players' islands to trade goods and services or to just show off your own style of home design.

In the midst of all the chaos, Animal Crossing New Horizons has been my go to for submerging myself into a calm atmosphere. The game does start off slow, which can annoy gamers like myself who like to dive right into action, but we all need a break from those games that drive up our heart rate and send adrenaline through our veins with every boss encounter. ACNH lets you do things at your own pace: fish, catch insects, garden, explore, talk with your neighbors, and even explore other islands to gather new resources. It is so easy to spend half a day playing, I myself spent five hours fishing on my own island.

For anyone new to the franchise the game does start off slow and it does play with real time so that can be frustrating at first but so far this is probably one of my favorite if not my favorite title to hit the switch.
