It's a little hard to believe that the Schindler's List director also came up with this dino adventure movie, but what's even more impressive is that the two films came out mere months apart. This could not be more different, but if you're looking for a film about these prehistoric creatures, sti... Read More »

Add a CommentOooohhhh my goodness I was gripping the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time!!!! This was a really good movie, actually a whole lot better than I was expecting. I appreciated that it wasn't too gruesome and the ending was really good. Honestly, now I'm wondering why I didn't give it 5 stars...
The only problem is that T-rex's weren't carnivores...
The movie was great, but I didn't get to see all of it, because the DVD kept freezing, and I had to skip some parts to see the rest. Frustrating
one of my all time favorties. truly one of the greatest movies of all time.lots of special effects
family, teen, action, thriller, etc. truly checking this movie out.
Wrong movie in the case. I’ve got the lost world instead. The bar codes on the disc match the one on the case but don’t match with the title.
Exciting entertainment. For fictional movies I have no problem accepting far-fetched premises, however I am puzzled by the total disappearance of other characters (numerous lab people, other park employees) once the grandchildren arrived. Not with dino-DNA yet, but in 2020, with gene-splicing, etc., let us be warned.
Good!
Nope. DNA doesn't preserve in amber for millions of years. Not even in fossilized misquito bllo. Still, an absolute classic, cautionary tale of the dangers of animal GMOs. Will endure as long as cinema itself.
Not just one of Spielburg's best films, but perhaps one of the best blockbusters ever. The dinosaurs still hold up after nearly 30 years, even if the rest of the island's technology is starting to look a little dated.
I saw the movie. I read the book. I don't know which I did first. I loved both! Nevertheless, this was a rare occasion, when the visuals of the movie greatly enhanced my imagination while reading the words in the book. Also, the movie did not ruin the original story, which so often happens, when books are made into movies.
As for some complaints about the story-line and its logic -- it's a FANTASY! Don't let your reason and logic try to pick it apart. Live the fantasy, or don't bother watching it! The scenes work and fit very well, as a thought-provoking fantasy. It's spectacularly produced and riveting, beautiful, visual entertainment!
This original movie is the best of them. I didn't care for any of the sequels. The original is on our "time-to-watch-it-again" list of all-time favorites.
One of my all-time favourite movies. I've lost track how of how many times I've seen it. Just as good as the book, but different. Perfect blend of wonder, humour, science, and tension.
