Nope. DNA doesn't preserve in amber for millions of years. Not even in fossilized misquito bllo. Still, an absolute classic, cautionary tale of the dangers of animal GMOs. Will endure as long as cinema itself.

Not just one of Spielburg's best films, but perhaps one of the best blockbusters ever. The dinosaurs still hold up after nearly 30 years, even if the rest of the island's technology is starting to look a little dated.

I saw the movie. I read the book. I don't know which I did first. I loved both! Nevertheless, this was a rare occasion, when the visuals of the movie greatly enhanced my imagination while reading the words in the book. Also, the movie did not ruin the original story, which so often happens, when books are made into movies.

As for some complaints about the story-line and its logic -- it's a FANTASY! Don't let your reason and logic try to pick it apart. Live the fantasy, or don't bother watching it! The scenes work and fit very well, as a thought-provoking fantasy. It's spectacularly produced and riveting, beautiful, visual entertainment!

This original movie is the best of them. I didn't care for any of the sequels. The original is on our "time-to-watch-it-again" list of all-time favorites.

One of my all-time favourite movies. I've lost track how of how many times I've seen it. Just as good as the book, but different. Perfect blend of wonder, humour, science, and tension.

The premise sounds ridiculous- a business tycoon teams up with geneticists to bring dinosaurs back to life- but in the hands of director Steven Spielberg, with Michael Crichton adapting his own novel for the screenplay, and a cast as good as this one, Jurassic Park is not silly camp. It's a great flick. The pacing is what truly saves the day. The movie holds back on showing the dinosaurs, most of them made using practical effects, rather than the CGI nightmares that have plagued recent sequels and reboots, until the stakes are at their highest. A greedy computer programmer, Sam Neill and Laura Dern's cerebral paleontologists, and Jeff Goldblum's iconic "life finds a way speech" in the middle of a discussion about ethics and scientific discovery do not slow down this movie, whose crowning achievement is having a terrifying and very real looking original king of the jungle make mince meat of a '93 Ford Explorer. Grab some popcorn and 'hold on to your butts.'

This movie is a classic! It was jammed pack with suspense and action from start to finish. The movie differ from the book quite a bit, but it was just as enjoyable to see the dinosaurs come to life on the big screen. Both the young and the old will enjoy this film.

Going straight from print to film with the involvement of the author on the screenplay, Jurassic Park is not quite the direct book adaptation you might expect, but, when all is done I think it improves the story and definitely the pacing for a movie format. What makes it even better is that there are subtle easter eggs to be found in the film if you've read the book. Everything aspect of the film from acting, cinematography, story, and special effects work together to make a modern classic that has launched a number of follow-ups that have never hit the same heights. The premise is a simple one of survival and greed leading to disaster, and it doesn't need to be anything else.

Omg, this was an amazing movie. When the most recent one came out I had to go back and re-watch all of the past movies. This is the first one and honestly, you will not be disappointed. This movie has action and thriller scenes which always kept me on the edge of my chair. I loved the characters in the movie and all of the different dinosaurs we got to learn about in this movie. I totally recommend this book to all people and of every age. I give this movie a 4.7 out of 5 stars. @terrificbooklover of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

If you want to see a real life dinosaur, this is the movie for you. This movie is relatively short, but highly suspenseful, thrilling and adventurous. It will take one back 65 millions years, to appreciate the sheer savage beauty of the magnificent dinosaurs. The characters in the movie are 3 dimensional - meaning that they have different stances on various issues. By introducing characters such as palaeontologists, palaeobotonists, mathematicians, lawyers, zoo keepers, computer scientists and engineers, the movie is ever more interesting due to the different aspects each unique characters take. Although this movie may focus on the sheer capabilities and action of the dinosaurs, viewers should not forget what this movie is warning humanity of. This movie was written and filmed during the 90’s, in which mankind had just began to advance into the groundbreaking and ever changing era of advanced technology. The movie warns readers about the advancements of science. The pros, the cons, and our responsibilities as humans as being a key role in shaping our world. 4.5/5. @Lime_Latte of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

The original film holds up quite well even multiple decades after its release. For something that relies so heavily on special effects, the talent of not just the famous director but all of the all-star cast really does shine through. While certainly too scary for the younger set, for older children and adults alike the movie remains an absolute marvel. The dinosaurs look fantastic. The world of hi-tech wonder around them, from the fascinating-looking vehicles to the doctor-filled genetic labs and more, appear really interesting as well. It's a joy to revisit this excellent movie.
