A great movie that is hard to understand at first, but if you are a patient person, you'll slowly understand what this movie is all about.

Very well crafted and the acting was good. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind brings out an important message about how we shouldn't always completely let go of our memories, good or bad. However, I was expecting this movie to be a depressing drama on a relationship that was erased. And it was. Except I was not expecting this movie to be a freaky drama that made me feel like I was a little high, and for that I was a kind of thrown off. Besides that, this film is pretty promising, and I enjoyed it.

This is in my top five favorite movies of all time, so this comment will be over-flowing with praise. It came out when I was about 16, so the perfect time for an indie alt-romance like this. And the perfect time to be introduced to screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (who is now one of my favorites because of this beautiful film). Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are so great in these roles. They really sell this story. I would recommend even for people who don't usually go for quirky flicks like this to check it out for the two lead actors, alone. It's a movie that deals with love and loss and tries to answer the question "If you could erase the memories of a broken heart, would you?"

I know a lot of people love this movie and I understand it's quality. My rating is based off of how this movie made me feel. I felt so depressed after watching this. I hated the ending, I hated the very idea of what they are doing in this movie, erasing your's painful. This movie probably deserves a higher rating because of the quality in the writing - that led it to making me feel so much, but by the time this finished I was just hurt - sad and angry.

Though I am not one for romantic or drama filled movies this movie was absolutely stunning and one that will stay with me for a while. This movie explores mental illness, loneliness and what we consider we need to be happy. This film is shot beautifully and contains amazing actors. Seeing the change in these characters is amazing because it feels so real and many of the situations the characters are involved in are relatable which isn't the easiest thing to do in filmmaking. You can really feel the raw emotion and how every action the characters make has an impact in the surroundings they are in and the people they associate with. Overall this movie is extremely beautiful and definitely worth the watch. 5/5 Stars.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is an incredibly different romance movie. The entire movie is a sort of maze where two lovers try to get their memories of eachother erased, but one realizes its a mistake while he's in the process. This leads him to try his best to stop the process while he is asleep in his own mind. The movie is a very heart wrenching tale of someone trying to hold on to his memories while the other person seemingly had let go. It's honestly hard to explain the plot of the movie but Jim Carrey portrays his character perfectly and the movie is just incredible. 5/5

Quite an unusual love story. This film is about insecurity and accepting what you have, wanting what you don't have and second chances when you find what you've lost. It may seem confusing because it begins where it ends and much of the film is spent inside Joel's memories as they slip away but it all makes sense in the end and bears a second viewing. Think of it like an Alzheimer's relationship do-over. There are some raw moments with fine performances by both Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet.

Weird, funny movie. Jim Carrey in a little bit of a different role.

Hard to follow at times and not for everyone. If you can get past the oddity of it all and the slow start (There are literally four chapters of the movie before you even get to the title credits), you are in for quite a special treat. I have never seen a movie quite like this one and what an all-star cast to boot! I was great to see Jim Carey have such a demure and complex character, compared to his typical rambunctious roles.

I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind when I was just beginning college and it took me a few times watching the movie to fully understand the sweetness of the storyline. Now, over 10 years later, I still love this movie. It's not Jim Carrey's typical character, and thank goodness otherwise I would have disliked the movie. It's a cute story of two people who love each other, forget what they love about each other, leave each other ...and I won't say more otherwise I'll wreck the end. Anyway, I liked this movie and, for what my review is worth to you, I hope you enjoy it too.

Total crap waste of time and life! I can't believe people rated this crap movie so high with so many 4 and 5 stars! I had a hard time watch the whole movie! As far as I was concerned the rating I gave this crap movie of a half star was a half star to much and would of rated it 0 stars but the site won't let me rate 0 stars!

CLEMENTINE: You're not a stalker or anything, right? JOEL: I'm not a stalker. You're the one that talked to me, remember? CLEMENTINE: That is the oldest trick in the stalker book. JOEL: Really? There's a stalker book? Great, I gotta read that one.

I'm always anxious thinking I'm not living my life to the fullest, you know? Taking advantage of every possibility? Just making sure that I'm not wasting one second of the little time I have.
