My three year old loves Little Chick (the book Little Chick's Big Day is sweet), but this one is dated in how the family is described: as "the farmer's wife ... daughter ... son". It's a cute story, but that last bit is a deal-breaker for me. I'll still read it to her for now, changing the words, but it isn't one I would choose for her when she's learning to read.
