I'm a fan of silent comedies and while I started with Chaplin, I prefer Keaton. Chaplin is all "Love me! Love me," but Keaton is more understated, graceful and melancholy. This 2-disc, 3-film set is from his stint at MGM, a decision he later called the worst of his career. He gave up his independence and had to deal with much more studio independence. That said, all 3 of these films, while less well-know than classics like "The General" and "Our Hospitality," are worthwhile. The stand out here is "The Cameraman" (1928), often regarded as his last great film. "Spite Marriage" was his last silent film and has a terrific sequence on a yacht. Then there's his first sound film, "Free and Easy," (1930). It is a little strange hearing Keaton talk (and sing!) and the film could've used a judicious editor, but Keaton's great and you can see his influence on generations of physical comedians from Peter Sellers to Rowan Atkinson.

Buster's classic the Cameraman is well worth watching.

I only had time to watch "The Cameraman" but it really made me appreciate Buster's great talent for physical performance.
