There's a lack of beautifully crafted sentences within the pages of this novel, but the storytelling sure makes up for it.

The writing was cringey for sure, but the storyline was very compelling. I watched the movies before reading the book. Interestingly I preferred Edward from the book compared to the movie, he was less creepy and manipulative. However, movie Bella was much better than book Bella. Book Bella was one dimensional, spoiled, grumpy and the victim of her own life choices. Movie Bella seemed a little more open to new experiences and grateful for her father. A good story for teen readers that can help spark the imagination. Not sure if it shows healthy relationships though, but what teen relationships are that healthy anyway?

Twilight is an amazing book. I have heard of the movie and the people I know who have watched it didn’t think it was good. However, this book exceeded all of my expectations. Bella is kind of crazy, with the whole “Oh you’re a vampire who thinks I’m extra good smelling and really want to suck my blood, no biggie.” thing. I love how clumsy and funny she is though. I think Edward is great for her. He is a little too old for her though.😉

Twilight is about a girl named Bella who moves to from Arizona to Washington to be with her dad. At first, she isn't happy because Washington is so cloudy and cold compared to sunny Arizona. During her first few days of school she meets someone named Edward, who she later finds out to be a vampire. As their friendship begins to grow, Bella begins to realize she may have feelings for him. Edward warns of the risks she is putting herself in by being with him.  I would recommend it for anyone who likes romance mixed with a bit of action. Out of five stars, I would give this book 5 out of 5. Kylie, grade 9, of the Yorba Linda Teen Book Bloggers

These books are so awful and cringey in how teenage angsty they are, it's hilarious an adult wrote them.

I liked these books. I like vampires and I like the idea of falling in love with a fated mate. What really sells this story - is the description of the Cullens. They are who are interesting. Bella's a witty, more complex character in this book - than we get to see in the movie. And Edward is more alive, funnier. You see why they get together and I don't think anyone imagined a bunch of glittering vampires when they read this book, she made it clear that it was an alien type appearance. What you're staring at is someone frozen in time - with a diamond-like appearance as in tough. I don't know how this translated to the movie as sparkly vampires. But there are so many great scenes in this book that were completely changed in the movie. The moment when Edward reveals he's a vampire - happens in a completely different location, that is much more humanizing. I just really like the book more.

I rated this book with "awful" because I was cringing all the way through it. My biggest pet peeve about it isn't even the storyline; it's Bella Swan. She's the most static, one dimensional character I've ever had the misfortune of reading about. I recommend this book to read only if you really want to know what the fuss is about. You won't be impressed.

This book keeps you hooked with its quirky characters and darkness. It's a whirlwind of emotions. Edward and Bella are the main characters throughout the saga and it's about a love triangle between Jacob, Bella and Edward. It takes the vampire and werewolf differences and hatred to a whole new level.

About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was part of him — and I didn’t know how potent that part might be — that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
