Switching to life without footlights or greasepaint has been easier than Lissa MacCrimmon expected. After seven months in her hometown of Moosetookalook, Maine, she's able to keep her feet in the dance world by offering lessons to a few of the local kids. Running the town's Scottish Emporium with her aunt, working on her physical therapy for her knee injury, and romancing with Dan Russkin has kept her plenty busy. Still, she missed the life of a professional dancer, so when her dance company goes on tour, Liss decides to bring the show to her hometown. She arranges a reception for the troupe complete with a Scottish theme that includes a new spin on the classic Scottish Scone - her very own recipe for "cocktail scones."

I have enjoyed every book in this series so far. As an avid mystery fan I do not like when a book goes into detail of the characters sex lives. Romance is good, but not if it detracts from the mystery and suspense. I find that these books balance it nicely. The heroine has weaknesses that make her more believable. I would recommend this series.

I too liked the first book "Kilt Dead". This second one was too contrived for me and a bit of a three-ring circus. I, and any other regular mystery reader, figured out who did it early on, yet Liss never even seemed to suspect that person. This is a disappointment after the first book. sigh...

I was really looking forward to reading this since I really enjoyed the first one. But this one.....not so much. The story just drags along and it seems more about the the non-romance than it does about the mystery.

An action-packed series, with some male interest in the main character.
