"Patent law is no joke, especially when it comes to a piece of software people are willing to kill for. When one of patent lawyer Alex Treven’s clients - the inventor of an encryption program - is murdered and Alex is attacked in his own home, he reluctantly turns to the big brother he never wanted to see again. Ben, a secret-ops agent in a military anti-terrorist organisation, grudgingly agrees to help, but long-simmering resentments over a family tragedy threaten to erupt as the brothers argue over what to do - and whether to trust Alex's beautiful Iranian coworker. Fault Line is the 1st thriller to star Ben Treven, followed by Inside Out; he also appears in The Detachment, which stars perennial series favorite John Rain." Anybody who thinks this is good thriller writing needs to read some authors like John Lutz, John Sandford, Robert Crais etc.
This just could not hold my attention after the first chapter. He spends too much prose on description and not nearly enough on realistic action -
- Life is too short to waste on dull books !

I'm never sure how much I'll like a new series, but this one was every bit as good as the John Rain series. You'll like and hate the main character all at the same time.

Too much sibling rivalry and family tragedy nearly ruin what could have been an excellent novel. Instead, we're left with bickering and fighting one another instead of their real enemies. Consequently, 6 of 10 stars...Shoulda, coulda much higher.
