Summary
Add a SummaryA look at Wolverine's early life, in particular his time with the government squad Weapon and the impact it will have on his later years.
From this movie, 3rd in the series of X-men movies, we finally understand who Wolverine is, where he came from, how he got there and how all the "others" come to be in the series of X-men.
Brilliant portrayal by Jackman who plays the brooding loner, haunted by who he is, tied to family (brother) and yet not quite free enough to be who he is.... a mutant.
Sub-plot there is a love story, family ties and a new beginning for all

Wolverine is arguably one of the most iconic characters in the X-men franchise, which makes this movie really important for the entire series. I think that the film effectively developed his character, and showed his transformation from a man into Wolverine. There is action, suspense, emotion, and so much more that makes this movie really impactful. The audience gets a better appreciation for Wolverine’s character and history, which makes him easy to connect to and sympathize with. I would highly recommend this film if you are watching the other X-men movies, and especially if you are interested in Wolverine’s character. @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
Saw it in the theater when it was new and loved it. The end is set a few years before the first X-Men movie and yet -of course- Hugh Jackman looks older as does Patrick Stewart since it was made a few years after the last X-Men movie (X-Men, The Last Stand). Immortal characters are great in literature and comics; but a problem develops when the actor that plays the immortal character in the movies becomes a hit and so successful that the audiences demand his or her return again and again. I think this problem was solved in this case; I didn't see it yet but apparently in the next movie entitled simply Logan, Xavier is able to cause Logan to start aging normally without him losing his superpowers; which I believe is the basis of the Marvel comic character Old Man Logan.
Linda Carter didn't have this problem since her Wonder Woman TV series only ran 3 seasons.
I mentioned this in my review of Star Trek: Insurrection, in which Data looks considerably older than he did in the first season of the show which aired about 10 years before the movie.
Gal Gadot better get busy if she plans to make many more movies playing the immortal
Wonder Woman.
Wonder if they had to hire Canadian actors as some of it was filmed in Canada? I think I heard that is the law. Liked the movie.
This is a really good movie.
I honestly don't see why this movie got only 37% on Rotten Tomatoes. Hugh Jackman was (of course) really good as Wolverine and the plot contained some twists I definitely did not see coming. I have to admit, though, sometimes the execution was a bit awkward and the cast a bit too jumbled. It was very entertaining and interesting to learn about Wolverine's past, and I'd watch it again. I hope Marvel makes an 'X-Men Origins: Mystique'; that would be so cool.
Should have been so much better. Disappointing.
Good movie. I don't like what they did with dead pool. They should have just done that with someone else. I just ignore it, but it is still a good super hero movie.
Nice movie!
To me, this is by FAR the best of the X-Men series. I've seen all except for Apocalypse, and I love getting to know Wolverine's backstory.
