Good book. I recommend.

Old fave!

Great book! The ending was unexpected but it had a good plot and had lots of cliff hangers.

This is the book I stopped at when I first read these because I thought the series was over. Alas, there are sooo many other books now, but I needed to re-read these before I moved on. I didn't remember anything that happened in this book, so that's a good thing.

I'm going to start with this: Clary drove me crazy at the beginning of this book. She was complaining so much! All because she kept doing things people told her not to do. She was all "woe as me, blah, blah, blah." I couldn't stand it. Find something else to talk about, please!

The second half of the book was much better, in my opinion. We got more voices, there was more action, things wrapped up pretty well. The Jace/Clary thing was finally resolved, and we got more from Simon and some fantastic Alec/Magnus moments. I love them, so much. I will read the rest of the series just for them!

Anyway, the audiobook was pretty good for this, too. I've been enjoying listening to them; it was a good series to get into this year!

mortal instruments 3

An ok installment. Mostly tying major threads.
But there are plot holes like the unnecessary attack by the spy. And the death that should have been a big deal but was glossed over.

I absolutely loved this book, it reminded why I orginally fell in love with the series.

And if some of you didn't know, The Mortal Instruments was orginally meant to be a trilogy (City of Bones, City of Ashes, and City of Glass). So I just felt like it was a great temporary rap up while I went to go read The Infernal Devices and then swiftly came back to finish TMI.

So overall I LOVED it and I can't wait to finish TID so I can finish TMI!

This book absolutely beats the last two in the series. It was action packed from the beginning to end and kept me wanting more. The pages seemed to fly by despite it being almost 500 pages. I had finished the novel in one day because I couldn’t put it down. After Clary’s display of power, the Clave is interested to talk to her. Jace, who does not trust the Clave tries to do everything to stop her from visiting the City of Glass. This book finally launches Valentines evil plan that has been talked about in the last two books and hell literally breaks loose. The book is full of revelations, returns and deaths. A great book, and a seemingly definitive ending to the mortal instruments, so I am curious to see what Clare did with the fourth book. This is a must read for Young Adults. Rating – 5/5. @Average_Bookworm of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

The third book in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, and was originally supposed to be the last, this one is by far my favourite installment in the series. Her writing is beyond better and the main story line for this book is that it takes place almost entirely in the Shadowhunter home country, Idris. We get to learn more about the Shadowhunter way and how most of the families live. In this book the battle with the villain comes to a close, in the wake of a new villain arising that is even more chilling and thrilling, and for future holds, it takes the series to new heights. The action and dialogue in this book is one of the best in the entire series, so if you were weary about the first two, City of Glass is the book that'll make you want to read the last three. 5/5 Stars. @SeraphinaWilliams of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Jace: "You could have had anything else in the world, and you asked for me."

She smiled up at him. Filthy as he was, covered in blood and dirt, he was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen.

Clary: "But I don't want anything else in the world."

He glanced at Luke.

Magnus: "Tell him the wards are down."

This is the third book of the Mortal Instruments series. In this installment Jace has to see Clary as his sister and nothing more.As well an old friend of Joceyln Madeleine is under a spell Clary must save her!

couldn't have asked for a better ending. I got everything I wanted. I don't want to summarize the book, I'll leave that to others, but I will say that there are some heartbreakingly beautiful scenes in this book. The characters became more developed and more endearing, especially Jace. His sarcastic wit is certainly present in this book; however, he is no longer hiding behind his carefully constructed facade. His torment over Clary is glaringly obvious from the first chapter.

I noticed that another review stated that she wished Clary and Jace hadn't have been as close as they were until they knew the truth about not being related, but I have to disagree. Clary was the only person in the world that made Jace feel like he belonged and she was the only person he belonged to and the fact that she didn't turn away from him when he told her that he loved her probably meant more to him than her waiting until she knew the truth to love him back the same way. He had resigned himself to love her always, no matter what, and I'm glad that he got to know that she had resigned herself to the same fate.

Cassandra Clare works magic with this novel. The excitement begins on the first page and doesn't stop until the final sentence. She brings everything full circle for a completely satisfying ending - even though fans would be more than happy to read about these beloved characters forever, I know I will miss them.
I look forward to seeing some of the characters from this series in her new series "The Clockwork Angel"
