These books get better as the series goes on. In this one, the characters are a little annoying when you know they should be doing something else than what they are, but that's realistic. I highly enjoyed this book, but I feel like Ms. Paul reused some of her favorite ideas from The DragonKeeper Chronicles. Primen is virtually explained as Wulder, the dragons are almost identical, and so on. I'm not quite sure if they're supposed to be in the same world? That aside, Bixby was hilarious. I'm totally jealous of her fashion sense. :) However, she fit the character cliché of the "know-it-all" who the protagonist is somewhat jealous of, you know? Ultimately, I really like these books, and I think the author is good at creating worlds and sticking to her own rules.
