One Of Us is Lying Book Review Rating: 4/5 stars Ages: 13+ One of Us is Lying written by Karen M. McManus, is the story of 5 high school students who enter together into detention, and witness a tragic death; only 4 students walk out alive. The main plot follows the four other students who were in detention; Bronwyn Rojas, the class valedictorian who aspires to attend Yale, Addy Prentiss, the homecoming queen and popular girl in high school, Nate Macauley, the typical "bad boy" in probation for dealing drugs, and Cooper Clay, the star baseball player. They are all involved as suspects in the mysterious death of Simon Kelleher, creator of "About That", the highschool's gossip blog, which is revealed to not be an accident. Each one of them tries to clear their name, but they are all hiding something... Who commited the murder? Read "One of Us is Lying" to find out the truth behind Simon's death. From my personal opinion, I believe that this was a very suspenseful, mysterious, and shocking book. It's definitely a quick and easy read, with a very interesting plotline, and a thrilling ending, which in my case, I could figure out by the end of the book. What I enjoyed the most was the relationship between Bronwyn and Nate, which was certainly very well developed. I feel that the way in which the book is narrated, from the points of view of the four main characters, is very effective towards our understanding of the identity and personality of each of them. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading suspense/mystery YA novels. This is definitely a good read, and you will not be disappointed by the exciting ending!
