Felix Ever After was a pretty eye-opening book. I was really taken aback with this being one of the first books I’ve read about a transgender person. So, it was a whole different experience for me. The story starts off with our main character, Felix Love, running late for his art program with his best friend Ezra. Felix is a very talented artist, and is aiming for a scholarship to Browns, his #1 pick for University. But fellow artist Declan, isn’t making it easy for him. With snide remarks and angry banter, Felix and Declan don’t get along. But this is only a small issue when old photos of Felix before his transition pop up during the program. With the first person he suspects to be Declan, he hatches a plan only for it to backfire in ways he never thought possible. In a harrowing chase, he looks to find the person responsible. While also questioning himself and what he wants to be. This was a roller coaster of a novel. My emotions were running high throughout the whole novel. It really opened my eyes to things that I’ve never imagined before. But, overall I really enjoyed this very interesting book. 4.5/5 stars - Maade, SAPL Read It & Review Contributor
