WOW! I read this book in two sittings and all I can say is "WOW!" Mila comes from a troubled background but we don't really know why right at the beginning. She goes away to this beautiful farm in California that's a safe haven for foster kids... and ghosts. It's a bit confusing at first, but she accepts that things are different here. It's hard to explain, but Mila's journey is painful, but healing at the same time. There are some amazing mystery elements in this book and the ghosts spooked me out, but kept me interested the whole time. Nina Lacour touches on some difficult topics with a lot of care. I believe that older teens would like this book, but really, it's an amazing piece of literature and will be loved by any reader, no matter what their age is. 5/5 stars - SAPL Read It & Review Contributor
