I read in someone's review of The Path of Daggers once that it was just a big continuation of A Crown of Swords. In some ways, I have to agree. Elayne and co. finally get to use the Bowl of Winds that they found in the last book, and Perrin and Rand try to get everyone to side with the Dragon Reborn. Exactly what they were trying to do in the last book. Mat isn't in this book, but it didn't really bother me as I've found myself starting to like his character less and less as the series has progressed. I think in all, this book was an improvement over its predecessor, and I liked it better than A Crown of Swords. But like what a lot of other readers say, it is a little slow. I think that Rand is certainly the most interesting character here, but his mood changes faster than you can blink, and he acts a little too insane to be likable. But on the flip side of that, there were some great character interactions and there also were a few surprises and plot twists that I didn't see coming. SPOILERS: My favorite scene was probably near the end where some Rand's Asha'man turn against him and when he talks to Mazrim Taim.
