This is the first book in the Countess of Harleigh Mystery Series and I am hooked! This series is like a nice mug of warm cocoa on cold winter's night, cozy and enjoyable. Frances Wynn, Countess of Harleigh, is a wealthy American woman who married an impoverished and unfaithful English Earl. Said Earl is murdered, of course, and she's the prime suspect and must turn sleuth to clear her name. If you enjoy Downtown Abbey you should add this series to your to-read list, immediately. Frances is a Victorian version of Cora Crawley, the Countess of Grantham, if she had a not so decorous taste for being an amateur detective. All the characters are charming and diverting to read about, even the villains and cads. Frances's love interest is particularly swoon-worthy. I highly recommend this series to fans of Her Royal Spyness mystery Series by Rhys Bowen and the Veronica Speedwell mystery Series by Deanna Raybourn.
