Books By Women Authors Who Published Under Male Names

13 female authors who published under male or gender-neutral names so their work might be appreciated by all genders &/or so they could write about "unladylike" issues without being criticized. With the rise in Own Voices books today, it's interesting to see the history of women authors who didn't think (or their publishers didn't think) they'd get as many readers if they published under their own female names--and it happened more recently than you might expect.
