Upbeat Black History Month!

Historical discourse can sometimes go a little heavy on the hard moments - war, violence, oppression, etc. That's all well and good in some contexts, but for the non-miserabilists among us, it can also make history feel like a demoralizing drag. Black History Month is a time to remember the unique historical struggle of African-Americans, but it's also a time to celebrate their individual lives, accomplishments, and contributions. This list is intended as a supplement to other Black History Month resources, and will try to highlight a handful of uplifting African-American stories from throughout our country's history with an emphasis on the underknown. Stock up! February is almost here!
