Space - A Universe of Stories - Jupiter

Jupiter, the gas giant, is the largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter's swirling, pearlescent bands and Great Red Spot are fascinating. It is still a mystery what lies at the center of the planet under the hydrogen and helium atmosphere. You have a chance to see Jupiter and its moons during the month of June. Jupiter is in opposition to the Sun and the Earth is between the two lining us up perfectly. Check out the southern skies for the brightest spot and you've found it. Grab your binoculars or telescope to see four of the Galilean satellites. There are 79 known moons orbiting Jupiter. Enjoy learning, exploring, watching, and dreaming of Jupiter.
