Studying Shadows: Dark Academia

Dusty tomes, late-night study sessions, forbidden knowledge, first loves, and sometimes even murder. It's not quite its own genre, but some readers can't get enough of Dark Academia. Heavily atmospheric and combining elements of mystery, romance, fantasy, and horror, these novels are usually set in a school or university among a tight-knit group of scholars with dark secrets lurking around every corner. Put on your tweed jacket, light a candelabra, duck under that ivy-covered archway, and head on down to your neighborhood library to pick up more of our favorite Dark Academia selections:
