Celebrating 90 years of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

90 years ago this December 2023, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art opened its doors with the promise to be a premier destination for people of all ages and identities to view and learn about world-class art. Much has changed in the intervening years, but that simple mission holds true. The museum is located on 4525 Oak Street, Kansas City, MO 64111. They are inviting community members to join them for festivities throughout November and December. From drop-in activities to lavish affairs, there’s something for everyone to celebrate the Nelson-Atkins’ first 90 years – and support the museum as we look toward the future. If you haven't been to the Nelson or it's been a while, I highly recommend a visit. To celebrate this extraordinary milestone, here's a list of books and DVDs about art and artists for all ages.
