Wonderful story aside, a lot of the entertainment from this series comes from the footnotes. Lyons uses the footnotes to communicate interactions between characters who are reading the book (or external account as the characters see the book) along with you. It is a great way to do some worldbuilding and drop in important details without having to write a whole history lesson within the chapter.

Comment:

A wonderful story to play through and even more side stories to give meaty substance to this post apocalyptic American landscape. It was great to be able to interact with characters from the first game that needed more screen time and dialog. New weapons make combat a refreshing experience and a boatload of new machines make exploring even more dangerous and exciting.

There is a reason Elden Ring won game of the year. A beautiful open world experience with new things to discover every play through. Endless amounts of lore to sort through to help you decide with NPCs to side with and which ending to pursue. Give this game the time and respect it deserves and even you, a lowly Tarnished, can become Elden Lord.

The foundation that Novik has built for this fantasy world is superb. It is everything I wish Hogwarts could have been. The constant threat of danger keeps every action interesting and the shifting alliances between students really helps drive needed character growth. I cannot wait for the second book in the series to come out to see what becomes of El and the rest of her ragtag alliance.

Fight to chase Mongol invaders off of the island and decide whether you will do it as an honorable samurai or a shinobi thief. This game is visually stunning and makes the most of the PS4 controller's touch pad. There is absolutely zero screen clutter, (mini-map, way finding bar, to-do lists) just a cinematic view of this beautiful landscape. You can find plenty of armor, side quests, and character stories to follow before tackling the main story which means you can really bulk up if you're a fan of being over qualified for the very first boss fight. Picking between two different play styles also effects how characters interact with you and changes the vibe of the landscape, but don't worry, you can change the weather with your flute. Plenty of vanity gear is spread out through the island so you can choose to stealthily take out Mongols as an unassuming farmer, or charge into war camps in full samurai gear just like your (in game) uncle would want you to.

The food world is cut throat and intense. The education these future chefs are receiving at Japan's top culinary school reflect that. Do not watch this show on an empty stomach! This Shonen anime, in my opinion, is half comedy and half action. You will find yourself snickering at banter between characters, but then the show will do a complete 180 and make you feel like your watching an intense fight in Dragon Ball, Naruto, or Attack on Titan.

Movie Musicals may not be everyone's first choice when searching for something to watch, but The Producers is hilarious. Will Ferrell is apart of the cast which adds to the comedic intent.

In the midst of all the chaos, Animal Crossing New Horizons has been my go to for submerging myself into a calm atmosphere. The game does start off slow, which can annoy gamers like myself who like to dive right into action, but we all need a break from those games that drive up our heart rate and send adrenaline through our veins with every boss encounter. ACNH lets you do things at your own pace: fish, catch insects, garden, explore, talk with your neighbors, and even explore other islands to gather new resources. It is so easy to spend half a day playing, I myself spent five hours fishing on my own island.

Researching the Donner Party and what became of them will either fascinate you or disturb you. This eerie retelling of the wagon train's fate will have you feeling like something or someone is always watching from the tree line. While Katsu never comes out during the narrative to states what "the monster" in the novel is, if you do some research it should lead you to the wendigo. My personal favorite demon from Native American folklore. Wendigos enjoy long hunting trips through wintery forests, have a strong dislike for fire, and have a diet that consists of, well, everyone.

The Scythe trilogy has been one of my favorite series. The final book wraps up the story wonderfully, everyone gets what they deserve.

This is not a game for casual players. With that being said, this game is awesome if you are willing to really learn the mechanics and set aside a good chunk of time to play. The story is engaging and the visuals are stunning. It does not have to be played in a linear fashion so the player is able to circumvent stronger enemies early on in order to find stronger tools for the shinobi prosthetic. Limited resources are scattered about the areas the player navigates through. Have a plan in place before you face off against strong bosses because you do get punished for dying.

This has been the most entertaining read of the year so far. The humor was very well done and I laughed out loud several times. There were enough serious moments to really catch your attention and hold out hope for the heroes to make it though. "Kings of the Wyld" is a long read, but it is almost impossible to get bored of as something is always happening to keep the reader entertained.

I can never get enough of this game! You play as Aloy an outcast of the Nora tribe turned Seeker sent out to stop a nightmare from the very distant past from destroying life as everyone knows it. She is also on a journey of self discovery to learn about who she really is. The world has a rich history ready to be uncovered and many curious people to meet and interact with. The combat can be tricky to master, but once you have a feel for it, the thrill of the hunt will have you locked in for hours.

I will never be able to express how much love I feel for this game. There are so many well placed details and nods to past games in the series. The music is beautiful and the puzzles can be challenging. You can easily get lost in this rendition of Hyrule and discover so much that you forget there is a story line. Even after beating the main story and the DLC multiple times I can still find things on the map I never noticed before. With 120 shrines and 900 Korok seeds to find and not to mention a good number of mini bosses spread around the map, there is no way you can get bored.

This is exactly what I wish my graduation speaker would have said in both high school and college. "...Work with what you've got." A simple and powerful message that has the potential to make "adulting" less dreadful. This book outlines lessons that I have had to learn the hard way, and ones I have had to watch my friends learn an even harder way. This is good advise for any young adult getting ready to take on the real world.

Mothers are an absolute treasure we need to protect at all costs. There is such a large spectrum of personality types and parents styles that they fall under it is difficult to find two mothers who are the same. Marx's mother has got to be one of my favorite mothers (aside from my own of course) because of her thoughts that have been documented in this quick read. I saw so much of myself in the things she said I couldn't help but smile to know I wasn't alone in my beliefs.

A nice, quick read with content we can all relate to. Some pages verified a few of my own irrational fears and extreme dislikes i.e. balloons and ouija boards. The comics pair nicely with the witty descriptions and gave me a good chuckle.

This is a quick read that not only makes the reader uncomfortable at times, but also downright infuriates the reader as well. Ama has no memory of who she was before she was "rescued" and her so called "savior" does not treat her well at all. The Queen does her best to teach Ama how to cope with her situation because it is was she had to endure as well. Emory gets what he deserves in the end, and that is my favorite part.

I very much enjoyed this novel. It is a fantastic summer science-fiction story that will make you wonder how much the government is hiding from us. While it is predictable in many places it is still an enjoyable read, or listen if you enjoy the voice of Wil Wheaton.

If you have NOT read the book this is a good film on it's own. If you have read the book you will most likely be disappointed. Many of the details that made me love the book are missing.

By far one of my favorite books to date. The attention to detail is amazing and if you understand all of the gaming references Cline makes in the books it is even better. I will warn you, if you read the book and love it, the film adaptation may seem lackluster and disappointing.
