There are no stones un-turned here in the private life of Oscar Wilde. There's so much information it feels like a bit of a slog sometimes, but then there are these "oh my goodness" moments peppered throughout. The author really leaves nothing, and I mean nothing!!! out of this biography. There are no stones un-turned here in the private life of Oscar Wilde. Less about Buddhism as a religion than it is about finding inner peace and quiet. I found this quite useful, using breathing to bring about a state of meditation in mind and body. The language was accessible and never preachy or condescending.

I have to say, I loved this one. I knew from the first ten minutes there was something different about it. This was the most surprising, squirm-inducing, non-formulaic horror film I've seen in a really long time.

Who knew a book about sleeping for a year could be so fresh and engaging? Ultimately I ended up relating to the main character, despite how bogged down and cynical she sometimes became. Ultimately I found the characters memorable and the story weirdly believable.Who knew a book about sleeping for a year could be so fresh and engaging? The setup of a jewel heist and its bloody after effects. I'm...a little on the fence about this one. It was fun, but not "can't take my eyes off the screen" fun. Lot of bark without much bite.

One of David Lynch's most famously "out there" movies complete with disturbing imagery but also disturbing ideas about family and isolation.

The best way to enjoy the movie is with as many people as possible. I saw it in a packed theater and, during the night vision scenes, you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was breathlessly waiting for the next scare. Watching it by yourself is kind of pointless. The best way to enjoy the movie is with as many people as possible. A preposterous setup for yet another "found footage" horror flick, but this one at least does a good job of closing you in, making you feel claustrophobic and trapped in the Paris catacombs.

You either love this visually thrilling horror classic, or you hate it (and are probably Stephen King). I personally love this epic that builds increasingly intense scenes out of photographically striking images.

Just watched this again. Hasn't really stood the test of time, but it's fun to see where Bond, James Bond, got his start in the movies.

One of my all time favorites. One of those story lines where something's just not quite right. The neighbors are a little too friendly. Your husband is acting a little different than usual. Not quite stories, really, but these brief, observational musings are indeed mostly about Berlin. Together they read like a love letter to a city in a time gone by. What a fun visit.

An enthralling, nearly life-changing book. I listened to the Kate Reading audiobook of the excellent Lydia Davis translation. Lively characters experience dramatic events in surprisingly relatable ways. It's weird how much of myself I am able to see in this book.An enthralling, nearly life-changing book. There's so much going on here. It's a horror movie, yes, and it's scary, sure, but it has a lot to say about motherhood, families and society. I thought the ending was especially rich with insight.

It's very moody without being too dramatic. There's plenty of plot twists and surprises, but I recommend this more for people who favor atmosphere over story.
