Comment:

This is a fun queer version of "The Santa Clause." I liked how it depicted realistic communication and relationship issues one might have with their spouse, parents, and siblings. I also enjoyed the fun depictions of the North Pole and Christmas magic. However, I also felt that it could have been shorter. The middle of the story slumped for me. Overall it was an enjoyable Christmas read.

Comment:

While the first two in this series were 2.5 to 3 star reads for me, this one was much more enjoyable in my opinion. The setting was cozy and festive, and I particularly liked the "snowed-in" portion of the book. The books in this series seem very different in style from one another - I think the author is still trying to find their groove. I enjoy the romance of course and there's always a hint of a low-stakes mystery in these books. The characters from the previous books are sprinkled in, so while it may be easier to understand them if you read the first two books first, I think this book may also work as a standalone.

Comment:

This is a fast-paced BL romance that is extremely sweet. I loved the fact that a disabled person is represented in this manga. However, I was slightly made uncomfortable by the fact that the able bodied character did not always ask permission before lifting the disabled character or before pushing his wheelchair. I also would have liked a little more time spent on getting to know the characters before their relationship blossomed. It felt a little rushed. Overall though, it was a very enjoyable story with very sweet scenes.

Everything you want in a cozy fantasy - quirky characters, fun dialogue, dreamy setting, just enough world building without being over the top, and an "awww" worthy romance. There were high-stakes moments sprinkled in with plenty of excitement without swinging the story out of the scope of a "cozy" fantasy. I'd recommend this if you enjoyed "Legends and Lattes."

A whimsical Japanese novel that I finished in one sitting. If you enjoy astrology, talking cats, and delicious depictions of food, then this may be a great read for you! I enjoyed how the characters were connected and the setting in Kyoto and Osaka. At the end I was left wanting a little more, but overall it was an enjoyable read.
