Very bingeable. Pharmacist actor is great-- captures that guy we all know -- the milquetoast toady that covers a black heart.
However, the film is way off in blaming individual pharmacist for opioid epidemic. It leaves out the alliance of the FDA & the pharmaceutical industry: during the Oxycontin- Purdue Pharma death spiral, the FDA approved fentynal which is 10x stronger than Oxy and to this day, a much more efficient killer.

It's sort of a hybrid btwn fiction and documentary bec many of the participants are actual nomads, not actors . Maybe this is why I felt something inconsistent about a very wealthy actress playing a poor itinerate woman. I enjoy actors playing characters whose lives are different from their own, as in fiction. Heads up do yourself a favor and remember Bogie from the 40s or the African queen. Visually this film looks bad, cheap. The Hollywood golden age is over and the 60s haven't arrived yet. Bogart doesn't look well. SKIP!

Best film I seen in a long time. Very well crafted suspense. A few scenes over-did the tension with music, slow , stalking menace, which can be fast forwarded.

If the drugs found at autopsy are legal, often media reports just say that "no drugs or alcohol were involved" in a death. The only thing I question about the way this book is marketed is the claim that the paxil lawsuits changed anything about the deceitful practices of drug corporations. There is less regulation than ever. As examples, oxycontin/ Purdue pharma, and vioxx, etc. Big pharma has paid billions in fines when found guilty of knowingly whitewashing deadly side effects of particular drugs, but no drug exec has never gone to jail.
